Cross-Cultural

On one level, IH cross-cultural activities allow specific national groups to present and share their culture. On another level, these activities also reflect the ideas, beliefs and values shared by all IH residents. This makes IH cross-cultural activities exceptional. Within weeks of their arrival, former strangers find common ground and they begin to organise and participate in cross-cultural activities that express the shared ideals of freedom of expression and respect for other cultures. These activities prove that IH’s ideals are more than theoretical concepts.
Cross-Cultural Activities within IH include Tabiat Selasas (various activities run each Tuesday evening), the Mid-Autumn Festival, outings around the Brisbane CBD, Southbank, the Valley and West End, as well as a range of multicultural activities and trips arranged by the college.
